What is a HUD home

How does a home become a HUD home? HUD homes / Inspections - repairs

HUD is very willing to allow inspections. However, no repairs will be made by HUD and HUD will not allow the purchaser to make repairs prior to closing. Also, HUD does not allow inspection contingencies. This means that HUD homes are purchased as is. Before placing an offer on a HUD home we will check with your lender if there are concerns about possible lender required repairs. Often these can be dealt with by using an escrow hold.
